Terms of Service

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Kibhi account, and the date of birth you give us must be accurate. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to use the app, and your account has extra protections (see the Safety Center). Accounts found to belong to someone under 13 are deleted.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for anything posted under your account. Give an accurate username and date of birth; don't impersonate someone else, and don't create accounts to get around a suspension or ban. If you add a phone number, it must be yours.

Your content

You keep ownership of anything you post: videos, photos, notes, polls, captions, comments, Moments and your bio. Kibhi does not claim ownership of your content. By posting it, you give Kibhi a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for technical purposes, such as watermarking your username onto a video or re-encoding it for playback), adapt, publish, publicly perform, publicly display, and distribute that content, and to use it to promote Kibhi itself, including in advertising on or off the app. Deleting a post or your account ends this license going forward; copies already made for backups, legal compliance, or promotional material published before deletion may continue to exist for a reasonable time.

Kibhi automatically adds a small "@username" watermark to videos you post, similar to other short-video apps, so a clip is still credited to you if it's downloaded or shared elsewhere.

Acceptable use

Don't use Kibhi to post, share, or say over a call:

• content that's illegal, or that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights
• sexual content involving, or that otherwise endangers, anyone under 18
• nudity or sexual content, or sexual solicitation
• harassment, bullying, hate speech, or content that threatens or endangers others
• content that promotes suicide, self-harm, or dangerous acts and challenges
• the sale of drugs, weapons or other regulated goods
• shocking or graphic violence
• scams, fraud, spam, fake engagement, or harmful misinformation
• malware, or attempts to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service
• someone else's private information, such as their phone number, address, location or private messages, without their permission

Our Community Guidelines explain each of these in plain language and are part of these terms. Where the law requires it we'll report illegal content or activity, including anything involving the sexual exploitation of a minor, to the relevant authorities.

How we moderate

Words in posts, comments and bios, and photos and videos in posts and chats, are checked automatically before anyone else sees them, and anything that fails isn't posted or sent. Kibhi's team then reviews posts after they go live, starting with ones people have reported. A review can:

• leave the post as it is, or feature it so more people see it in For You;
• limit its reach, so only you and your followers see it and it isn't recommended in For You, hashtags, search or outside Kibhi;
• hide it, so only you can see it, or remove it altogether;
• give the account a warning or a strike, or suspend or ban it (see below).

When we limit or hide your post we tell you which rule it broke. We don't promise to review every post, and a post being up doesn't mean we've approved or endorse it: views in a post, comment, message or call are the user's, not Kibhi's. How visible a post is in For You is up to Kibhi, and no one is owed a particular number of views.

Appeals

If you think we got a decision about your post or account wrong, appeal at kibhi.com/appeal (it works even if you can't sign in). A person on Kibhi's team, not an automated system, reviews it and replies. If the appeal succeeds, we restore the post or account.

Intimate images shared without consent

Never post or send a nude or sexual image or video of someone, real or created or altered with AI, without their consent. Doing so breaks these terms and may be a federal crime under the TAKE IT DOWN Act. Anyone shown in such an image, or someone authorized to act for them, can ask us to remove it at kibhi.com/take-it-down, with or without a Kibhi account. We hide the reported content while we review it, and remove it and copies we can identify within 48 hours of a valid request. The account that posted it may be suspended or banned. Content showing anyone under 18 is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Knowingly false removal requests are not allowed.

Copyright

Kibhi respects intellectual property rights and expects the same from everyone using the app. If you believe something posted on Kibhi infringes your copyright, email the address below with: a description of the copyrighted work, a link to (or description of) where it appears on Kibhi, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized and that your notice is accurate. We'll review it and remove infringing content where appropriate. Accounts that repeatedly infringe may be terminated.

Chats, groups and communities

Messages, voice messages, files, polls, events, shared locations, contacts and forwarded messages are all covered by these terms. You're responsible for what you send and forward, including making sure you're allowed to share someone's contact details or a file. The person who creates a group or community is its admin: admins can add and remove people and delete messages, and they must follow these terms too. Polls and events are informal; Kibhi doesn't check or enforce their results or who turns up. A location you share is sent once, as a message, and is never tracked live.

Calling

Kibhi lets you start a video or voice call with another user. Calling is open to every account (13+) with a confirmed email, except that people aged 13 to 17 can only be called by people they follow or already talk with, and nobody can call someone who has blocked them. Calls aren't moderated the way a posted video is: nobody reviews a call before it happens, so you're relying on the person you're connected with to also follow these terms. Block and report the other person if they don't; see Acceptable use above for what that covers, and note it applies here too. Calls aren't recorded or stored by Kibhi; see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is.

Account suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you violate these terms, particularly the Acceptable use section. Usually this builds up: a warning, then strikes (for example when a post is hidden for breaking a rule), then a suspension for a set number of days, then a permanent ban. Serious violations, such as anything that endangers a child, can lead straight to a permanent ban. You can appeal any of these (see Appeals). You can delete your own account at any time from Settings. Sections that by their nature should survive account termination, including Your content's license for already-distributed uses and Limitation of liability below, continue to apply afterward.

Payments to Kibhi

You can pay Kibhi in four ways. Each is exactly what it says, and nothing more:

• Donations are voluntary gifts to support Kibhi. You receive nothing in return except our thanks.
• Sponsorships are one-time payments for recognition: your name, logo or link on our sponsors page and the other perks listed when you pay.
• Memberships are monthly subscriptions to account features (such as the gold check mark and extra reach). You can cancel any time; access ends at the end of the period you paid for.
• Promotions are advertising: paid reach for a post for the days you choose, after our review. If we don't approve a promotion, we refund it in full.

Business Pages are covered by our Business Terms, and promotions by our Advertising Terms. Payments are processed by Stripe. Except for promotions we don't approve, or where the law requires, payments are not refundable. Donations and sponsorships are not tax-deductible. Prices are in US dollars.

No investment or ownership

No payment to Kibhi, of any kind, is an investment. A donation, sponsorship, membership or promotion does not buy, and does not give you any right to, shares, stock, equity, ownership, a stake, a share of profits or revenue, interest, repayment, voting rights or any say in how Kibhi is run, now or in the future. Do not pay Kibhi expecting a financial return.

Nothing on Kibhi's websites or apps, including the Sponsor page, is an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any security. Any investment in, or equity or compensation from, Kibhi can only ever happen under a separate written agreement signed by Kibhi's founder, and on the terms that agreement sets out.

Third-party services

Kibhi relies on third-party services to operate: Google for sign-in, Stripe for all payments, Render to run our servers, Cloudflare for our website and to relay calls, Mux and Cloudinary to host photos and videos, Sightengine for automatic photo and video safety checks, Neon for the database, Resend to send email, and Google Firebase for push notifications and phone number checks on the native apps. Songs you add to a post come from Spotify. Features backed by these services are also subject to that provider's own terms.

No warranty

Kibhi is an independent project provided "as is," to the fullest extent permitted by law, with no guarantee of uptime, data preservation, or fitness for any particular purpose. Don't rely on it as your only copy of anything important.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kibhi and its operator aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Kibhi's total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to whichever is greater: the amount you've paid Kibhi in the past 12 months, or $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Kibhi against any claim, loss, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the app, your content, or your violation of these terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If a dispute comes up, contact us first at the email below; we'd genuinely rather resolve it directly. Anything that can't be resolved that way will be handled in the courts with jurisdiction over Kibhi, consistent with applicable law.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the app changes. We'll change the date at the top of this page, and for an important change we'll also tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Kibhi after a change means you accept the update.
